Vistara flies one million passengers in first year

Vistara has celebrated flying its one millionth passenger.

The Delhi-based airline, which commenced services on 9 January 2015, reached the milestone after less than 12 months of operations. Since launching, Vistara has built up a network of 12 destinations, which it serves with 311 weekly flights using a fleet of nine Airbus A320 aircraft.

To mark the milestone, Vistara’s millionth passenger, Biplove Choudhary, was treated to an upgrade from economy to business class on his flight from Delhi to Mumbai, and also provided with complimentary Club Vistara Gold membership.

“This is another great achievement for Vistara within the first year of operation,” said Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO of Vistara. “We are glad that so many customers have appreciated Vistara’s differentiated offering and unique value proposition. I would like to thank all our customers who have reposed their faith and kept coming back to us, making Vistara their preferred airline. We will continue to focus on the feedback of our customers and deliver seamless and personalised service experience to delight them.”

In 2016, Vistara plans to add four more aircraft to its fleet, allowing it to add new destinations and increase the frequency of its existing routes. The coming months will also see the launch of Vistara’s new lounge at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3.
